HUAWEI P10 v.s HUAWEI Mate 9

HUAWEI Mate series are designed for businessmen with an age of over 30; while HUAWEI P series focus on fashionable design elements and are aimed at young consumers.

For HUAWEI P10 has as much as 8 different colors which are very innovative and bold, including blue and green. The newly added colors are co-designed by HUAWEI and Pantone. While HUAWEI Mate 9 only has three traditional colors.

As in the design and craft, the camera of HUAWEI Mate 9 is on the middle of the back cover, and the curved glass and metal on the surface as well as the matte effect all make Mate 9 very mature and suitable for businessmen. However, HUAWEI P10 puts the camera on the upper left corner on the back cover and the edge is transisted with rounded-corners. Also CNC diamond cutting craft is used on the back cover of HUAWEI P10 which makes it look very shining and exquisite.

HUAWEI Mate 9 is the first product of HUAWEI to apply the double curved surface, and it has a 5.9 inches screen with a resolution ratio of 1080 P and a 5.5 inches screen with a 2K screen for the version with a curved screen . While HUAWEI P series do not apply curved surface, and P10 applies a 5.1 inches screen with a resolution ratio of 1080 P and the HUAWEI P10 Pus has a 5.5 inches screen with a 2K display.

Both HUAWEI Mate and P10 carry the Kirin 960 processor with 4 GB /6GB RAM plus 32GB/256 GB ROM, and 4 GB/6 GB ROM plus 64GB/128 GB ROM respectively. The two have very similar equipment on the CPU information.

In the camera, HUAWEI P10 applies the 2ed generation of the LEICA camera which is the same with HUAWEI Mate 9. While HUAWEI P10 uses a 12MP color camera and a 20 MP side black-and-white camera, which has an F.1.9 aperture thus offering better imaging quality under weak light condition. Besides, P10 provides various and more professional camera functions such as 4k video recording, OIS. The front camera of HUAWEI P10 is 8 MP which also has an F1.9 aperture and provides very slightly better user experience than that of HUAWEI Mate 9.

Just like HUAWEI Mate 9, the waterproof and dust-proof ability of P10 also has reaches the IP68 level. Besides, HUAWEI P10 has 4 antennas which has double download speed. HUAWEI Mate 9 has a 4000 m AH battery which supports fast charging, while HUAWEI P10 has a smaller battery of 3200 m AH which supports the Super Charge fast charging technology. The battery endurance performance of the two phones can definitely meet most demands of consumers.

Generally speaking, the largest difference between HUAWEI Mate 9 and HUAWEI P10 is mainly on the outlook design, Mate 9 is more suitable for businessmen and P10 is more fashionable and shining. But the camera performance of P10 has been upgraded to some extent.
